How i usually take care of my plants indoors
For overwintering most plants, there is a simple rule to follow. This rule is: lots of light, lots of warmth, lots of water and finally, lots of fertilizer! In this Guide, I will show you my take on Overwintering plants.
Starting with the Herbaceous Tropical's. First we need to see what plants fall under this category. This includes Banana, Tulsi, Jasmine/Moghra, Bhadraksha, Datura, Peppers, Paan, Dhub Grass, Marigolds, Turmeric and ginger etc.. These plants require Light (Artificial lamps or natural lights), humid warmth and fertilizer. These plants do not favour water in this time because of their dormancy habit, I water these plants once every 3 days.

Now lets see the Trees or heavy wooded potted plants. This includes Hibiscus, Curry Leaf Tree, Neem, Peepal, Lemons, Mango, Bael, Rudraksha, Bargad and sandalwood etc.. These plants will definitely need light, heat and slight water. They hate fertilizer during this time because the plants like to drop their leaves and rest, in other words, go dormant. Fertilizer makes the plant continue growing and stresses the plant, making it unhealthy. I keep them in front of the sunniest window and water every week.
